Graffiti: See Something, Say Something.

December 29, 2023 5:30 pm

Graffiti and vandalism can cost the district (as well as tax payers) over time due to the cleanup and repairs required after damage occurs. It is everybody’s responsibility to say something if they see any type of vandalism occurring within the district, to hopefully put an end to it and to keep our neighborhood looking well and maintaining property value.

Graffiti often uses chemicals that damage the environment and materials it’s placed on. Often during cleanup even harsher chemicals and solutions must be used to remove it, which leads to costly repairs and replacements of materials, or repainting surfaces it has damaged. There is also an environmental cost of using damaging chemicals that impact the environment. These markings are often associated with higher crime rates, making public spaces less safe and less likely to be used due to the sense of disorder created by having graffiti in community areas.
